• Does my insurance cover the purchase price of all products?

Each insurance carrier and plan differ greatly. We will contact your insurance company and attempt to verify and/or authorize the prescribed item prior to servicing you. Please be advised, there may be situations where the insurance carrier or claim representatives will not give us certain information, such as deductibles that have not yet been met, however we will do our best to ascertain the best information possible to help you make an informed decision regarding purchase.

• How long will it take to receive my order?

If the prescribed item is a non-custom, off-the-shelf product, you will most likely leave our office with it. In cases where the item must be made for you (custom-fitted items,) then a casting will be done during your initial visit and depending on the manufacturer, you should receive your item within approximately 10 days to 2 weeks. Custom-molded diabetic shoes normally take anywhere between 4-6 weeks to fabricate.

• How long do I have to wear the product(s) for recovery?

The length of time a particular orthosis needs to be worn depends greatly on the type of orthosis and, of course, your diagnosis (the reason you have been prescribed the item.) Some braces are worn until the condition subsides, while other braces are worn for lifetime. We will give you a wearing or break-in schedule for certain types of braces or devices, but ultimately the ordering physician will dictate the length of time you will need to wear the item, and you should consult with your physician for a full treatment plan.

• Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are the preferred method of scheduling patients because it allows to to prepare preliminary paperwork such as insurance verification, and authorizations, which enables us to treat you more quickly. Some insurance companies will not give us an immediate response on your claim, so we may need to send or fax them information. Their response can take up to 48 hrs. Naturally, we do our best to ensure that walk-ins are accommodated, especially in emergency situations.

• What do the products look like?

The majority of the products, or reasonable facsimiles thereof, can be found in the gallery section of our website. If an item is not shown in the gallery, we normally have stock or websites to direct you to, so that there are no surprises. Please contact us for further information.

• Are the products guaranteed if broken or faulty?

All of the products have a manufacturer’s warranty, which varies by product and manufacturer. Please refer to your specific product for warranty information.

• What happens if I need an adjustment to my product(s)?

If an adjustment is needed,  please notify us and an appointment will be set up with you to have adjustments made at one of our locations.
